We certainly have had our ups and downs with the weather in July. However, it stayed dry when needed and even contributed to a great turn out of 25 at Club Night at Telfords.
This month we have our annual Summer BBQ at the Red Lion in Handbridge. This is a free event for members (non members are welcome for a small fee) and have had in excess of 35 people attending at past events. Please see full details later in the bulletin.
The rest of August’s events are varied indeed, a meal, cinema, theatre, Fizzy Friday and a day out – plenty to look forward to.
Have a great time and I hope to see you all soon.
The May Chairman’s chat it is usually all about the AGM and welcoming the new committee but I am writing this before the AGM, as it’s being held late this year. Hopefully we should now have a new committee elected and have recruited a few new volunteers to replace those who have stepped down. It’s always great to see new people joining the committee every year who can bring some new ideas and enthusiasm to take the club forward into the next membership year.
I had some great nights out last month; thanks to Matthew and Lee for coming along to my Telford’s night to see the Sundowners. Telford’s is always a great night and the band were really good. We had a great turn out for Alison’s birthday later in the month which was enjoyed by all with a mix of older and newer members, and even some ex members. It was a shame that the canal trip was cancelled last month due to John’s work commitments, but I believe he is planning to reschedule the event later this year so look out for that one as I know a number of people were looking forward to it.
Lots to look forward to this month: Spring Party, Pub Crawl, two beer festivals, Eurovision party, BBQ and much more 🙂
Finally I would like to welcome our newest member Sam.
Have a good month everyone and congratulations to the new committee.
Thanks this week go to Alex for organising us all to go to Telfords and watch the ever entertaining Loose Kites put on another storming performance and it was good too to see a few people who I hadn’t seen since our Christmas Ball.
I guess I should also remind you that Badminton is still on every week and to look in your bulletin or contact Steve or Mark for more details.
Thanks too to Amanda for organising a dog race night and worst gift exchange at her house last weekend. There were a few of us there and we watched 8 races from the DVD and 3 of us came out with a profit! I’ll not say what was exchanged in the worst gift exchange though as you never know who might read this 😉
See you at club night…
On Saturday night a group of IVC members partied hard at Telfords and some of them then went for a ride on Sunday! Did any of you see the weather? Well, they were lucky enough to find a break in the clouds and (for most of the ride) didn’t get too wet!
We’ve christened the new cycle lane to Mickle Trafford: see you along soon maybe 😉
I’ve just uploaded some photos from recent(ish) events to the members photo galleries.
If you have any photos you would like to share, please send them in.
