With winter truly upon us it’s time to head for cosy pubs with open fires and festive cheer.
We’ll be kicking off the festivities with Pip’s Xmas Spirit pub crawl, Christmas jumpers, tinsel and even baubles are encouraged! Next is the Mystery of the Flowery Knob (panto!) closely followed by a lovely cosy meal and pub night in the Bear and Billet. We’ve got a fizzy Friday to get us in the mood for the Christmas party on the 22nd – a real night of glitz, glam and indulgence!
Christmas is a time to spend with friends and family. It would be really great to see you over the festive period.
Jingle all the way!
Join us for an IVC new members night!

See you there!
I hope you all had a lovely Easter break!
The CNW-IVC birthday party is almost upon us on the 14th. We’ve reached the ripe old age of 27. The party is open to current members, past members, prospective members and guests. Please RSVP to me by the 4th.
Our AGM is quickly approaching, we’ve provisionally booked it for the 2nd of May. At this meeting the current serving committee members step down and anyone interested in standing for a role let’s everyone know and we take a vote. I will be sending out the details of the roles over the coming weeks so if you’d like to contribute to the running of our club please keep an eye out. If you’d like more information on the roles please speak to a current member of the committee.
I hope to see as many of you at the party, and if you know any past members be sure to let them know they’re more than welcome!
Happy St David’s Day! Spring is finally with us, although it might not feel like it over the next few days.
We have a great variety of events coming up this month, and we’ll be getting out and about from Hawarden to Liverpool and quite a few visits to Deeside. I’m looking forward to the day out in Liverpool for Andy’s birthday and I’m really pleased to see the curling taster on again, I took advantage of this a couple of years ago and can really recommend it, it’s such good fun. We have a couple of film nights and some jazz – nice.
Don’t forget it is the IVC’s birthday next month, an opportunity to party and let your hair down! I’ll be sending mails about it over the next few weeks.
I hope to see lots of you out and about over the month.
Wow, what a start to the year. The New Members’ Event was a roaring success with lots and lots of new faces.
February is looking good with a large variety of events including a trip to the Blue Planet Aquarium, basketball matches, a cinema night and lunch at Chocks Away. There is also a Ceilidh, the last one was great fun and very well attended. On the 23rd raise your glasses to celebrate Mel’s birthday!
Remember, new members (once fully signed up) ought to put an event on within their first 3 months of joining. If you have any ideas please discuss them with Alison W or a member of the Committee and we’ll be more than willing to give you any help you might need.
Finally, the Committee have decided to join our usual Spring Party with the IVC Birthday celebrations (27 years young this year). The celebrations will be in April so keep an eye out for separate mails from me about this.
Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a great time over the festive season and I wish you all a prosperous 2018.
The New Year is the time to reflect on the past year and to look forward to the year to come. We’ve had 21 new members join us in 2017 and put on over 80 events!
I look forward to welcoming even more new members in 2018 and seeing what new events our new members can come up with.
See you soon.
Christmas is coming! It’s the time of year when we head for cosy pubs and fire side drinks with good company.
We have our Christmas party on the 22nd, always a fantastic night out. This year we’re at the Town Hall with 28 party goers confirmed so far. A few spaces are still available so please get in touch with me if you’d like to join us.
We’re also celebrating Alison and Dan’s birthdays at the Slow Boat, having drinks with Andy B. There’ll be festive cheer with mulled wine and a brass band at Harkers.
I hope to see a lot of you over the festive season.
October is looking busy with some of our favourite events Fizzy Friday, a meal at the Slow Boat and a New Members’ event. We’ve also got a comedy night and a pool night, both of which were well attended and a great night out last time. And let’s not forget the Halloween party!
25 people have now confirmed that they will be coming along to the Christmas party. We have also reserved 15 places at the Brewhouse and Kitchen for New Year’s eve. Please get in touch if you’d like to come along. Tickets are £5 which includes a drink.
I hope to see you at one or more events this month.
Well August was certainly jam packed with great events! September is looking a little quieter but still has a great variety so whether you’re in the mood for the races, the cinema, a meal out, comic con or a graffiti artist show then we’ve got you covered.
If you haven’t put on an event yet this year then please have a chat with Alison W or a member of the committee.
I’ll be organising the Christmas party over the coming weeks so keep an eye out for my mails.
See you all soon.
Wow, July was certainly packed with some great events and August won’t disappoint either!
August kicks off with almost an event every day in the first week! From a talk on wildlife, days out to live music. The month continues with surfing, chilli, castles and cinema trips. We welcome the return of moonlight flicks, cinema under the stars.
Not forgetting the IVC summer event – the summer BBQ on the 19th. Always a well attended event, food, friends and sunshine – what’s not to like! Well done to all of those putting on events – you make the club what it is.
See you all soon.
