Hi everyone, and welcome to November’s bulletin. The nights are really drawing in now, and doesn’t it feel autumnal? Time to kick about in fallen leaves and have some treacle toffee, cinder toffee, and toffee apples. Hmm… is there a theme here? Anyway, hopefully we’ll see lots of you at Jo’s infamous bonfire night – back after a couple of years due to popular demand!
On the second attempt we finally managed to get down the mines at Alderley Edge… Absolutely amazing, so different from going down a normal, public cave. I’m sure I would have been completely lost if I’d had to find my way, but fortunately our guides knew exactly where they were going underground (which is more than they did above ground trying to find the entrance!)
C carried on her campaign to get us all to live a more ethical lifestyle, this time by the very subversive method of getting us to go to a ceilidh. How underhand, pressing the sustainability message while organising such a fun event! I’m sure they’ll be tapping your calls soon…
Thanks to S for stepping in as Events Secretary. She’s brought lots of energy to the role and set a good standard that I’m sure she’ll continue to live up to! No pressure 🙂
Thanks also to P, who has said he should be able to take over the Webmaster role – Will will be delighted! We’re currently discussing how we can update our web presence, so watch this space!
I’m sure none of you are thinking about Christmas yet, but it’s really not that far away, and it’s time to book your place for the Christmas meal. Remember, there’s the usual three course meal and disco, all for the bargain price of £30, or £15 if you’ve put on a bulletined event in the past year. Please get your payment and menu choices to any committee member by Friday 19 November.
Have fun, and see you at some of the November events!
