What sort of things do we do?

Club Night

We meet every Wednesday evening, usually in a pub in or around Chester, so contact us to find out where we’ll be this week: that is usually where most new members come along to find out more and meet existing members.

Typical events

Club events can include all sorts of possibilities – anything that a member is interested in!

We’ll often have trips out in the evening, maybe for a meal at a local restaurant, a night out on the town, or a trip to the cinema or theatre.

Further afield we might head to a nearby town or city, maybe for a festival or just for interest.  We’ve got quite a few active members, and often have local walks or cycle rides, and sometimes go away for weekends in the countryside.

Through the year there are various parties, sometimes hosted by members, and sometimes arranged by the club.

Other regular events include our book group every month, and our badminton group every week.

Over the past 12 months events have included:

  • Christmas party at Chester racecourse
Christmas party 2012
  • Chester ale trail, visiting all the historic pubs of Chester
Chester Heritage Ale Trail March 2013
  • Youth Hostelling in the Lake District
Elterwater weekend April 2013
  • A weekend in a Peak District bunkhouse
Wildboarclough July 2012
  • Visits to Chester coffee shops
Marmalade bistro, July 2013
  • Caving in Alderley Edge copper mines

Alderley Edge copper mines September 2013

The list is endless and always being added to by members.
