That‘s a bit more like it: some culture at last. This month has had a bit more class so in addition to the usual book clubs, cinema trips and ale we also managed to take in a bit of Mozart in the Cathedral and to meet Sherlock Holmes in Runcorn. Does Alice in Wonderland count as culture too? I’m not sure but we liked it :)

This month‘s bulletin will be out at the weekend hopefully so you can plan what you want to come on. As the weather is improving we’ll might see a few walks, cycle rides and some camping and don‘t forget there are are two weekends away that you need to sign up for soon.  Does anyone fancy organising canoeing again this year?

Also this month is the AGM so please make every effort to be there: would a free beer influence your decision to attend? Thought it might: read the chairman’s chat

Christmas is coming, the diary’s looking fat, please come to the pub for our club night?  Hmm: I think I might have to work on my rhyming…

Christmas is coming, the diary’s looking fat, please put a January event into the hat, if you don’t know what to do then God Bless You.

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, The new diary is on its way, oh what fun it would be to fill it up today!  We have a new diary so HEY HO HEY HO HEY! :-) :-) :-)   Please come along to one of the remaining club nights and put an event (or two) in the diary for 2010! (Especially if you didn’t put an event on in 2009 as you are kind of missing the point of this being a club run by members for members ;-)

If you didn’t get December’s bulletin please let me know as it is out!

If you need help planning an even or want to put a joint event on with someone else Aidan is there and will give you all the help that you need.  Poetry writing anyone… ?
ps. Thanks to Steph and Emma for putting on shopping trips to Manchester and Liverpool (although I think we had more fun in Liverpool as we went to see a show afterwards !)
Never Forget at The Empire Theatre, Liverpool
Thanks too to Jackie for arranging for a lovely Sunday pub lunch: see you all again this Saturday (well, it is festive meal season after all ;-) )

If anyone hasn’t received the September bulletin can you please let me know,

EvitaEvita – Oh what a circus oh what a show!  A very enjoyable evening only slightly marred by Mark losing the tickets the day before, but thanks to Frances we managed to get in to see the show!

A very powerful and moving musical added by the amazing performances of the two leads, Evita and Che, the rest of the cast were equally wonderful.  As was the set and stage production.  Well done to Frances for organising a wonderful evening and for arranging a room for us all to mingle before the show and during the interval it certainly made me feel slightly important walking passed people fighting at the bar to our very own room with bar man.

This was all followed by a drink in the local pub behind the theatre, me being star stuck and not having a pen in time to get autographs and half an hour spent at the train station playing I-spy!  A very enjoyable evening!!
